Inspired by there, but made like here
To us, cider is a form of art, expressing climate, topography and the wonders of exceptional, cider-worthy apples. We employ “natural wine” methods in all of our ferments, never filtering or adding cultured yeast (this allows each orchard’s native yeast to work its magic!) Our approach is inspired by global styles and traditions, but reflects our own apples, landscape and culture. It’s a philosophy expressed in everything we produce, and it’s one we think you’ll really enjoy.

Home is where our heart is
Liberty is proudly based in Spokane Washington, near our state’s eastern border. Where the west (think Seattle) is wet and temperate, we’re relatively dry, with warmer summers and chillier winters. The majority of our fruit is grown among wheat and legume farms in the fabled Palouse, or a bit further west in the heart of Washington’s wine country. As a result of growing practices, climate, and rich soil conditions, our ciders begin with exceptionally sweet and flavorful juice, leading to inherently delicious, (and often) higher alcohol ciders.
Apples make us shine
“Fine wine isn’t made with table grapes, and fine cider isn’t made with grocery store apples.” - Rick Hastings, Liberty Owner/Cidermaker
How we shine
Over the years, our collective efforts – including our growers, the Liberty crew and our yeasty friends – have created ciders recognized near and far as exceptionally tasty, authentic and responsible. We've been featured in multiple books, journals, publications and awards programs. Regarding the latter, here's a recent few we're especially proud of:
